Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 NIV
What an exciting week! Thank you for helping us to begin to break the cycle of poverty and care for children who are homeless in a whole, new way. Together, we will transform the manner that these children are nurtured for their first five years. We could not have accomplished this without the help of many generous organizations and individuals. A few of those teams are:
|Brian Marney and Family||Fastrac Excavating|
|KBS Constructors||Concrete Unlimited|
|WESTAR Energy||Downtown Ramada Hotel|
|Frank Ybarra Family||Topeka Housing Authority|
|Topeka Police Department||Washburn Tech|
|Home Depot||Nick Baumgartner and Midwest Barter Exchange|
|Wendy Pivarnik and Family||Lowes|
|McCray Lumber||Anonymous Donors|
|Michelle De la Isla||Mayor Larry Wolgast|
|Topeka Chamber of Commerce||Pepsi Cola|
|Subway||Papa Murphy’s Take and Bake Pizza|
|Hanover Pancake House||Leonard Meat and Produce|
|Baker’s Dozen||Leathers & Associates|
And countless individuals, churches and youth groups, and an amazing prayer team.
After hundreds of hours of labor, we are nearing completion of this project and we wanted to share an updated construction schedule. The first week of November, a subcontractor is laying AstroTurf in all the playground areas. The next week, another contractor is installing fence around the playgrounds. The finishing touches on the playground will be installed around the installation of turf and fence. We anticipate this project being wrapped up by the end of November at the latest. We are working closely with the Fire Marshall and state licensing groups to get open early in 2017 and begin serving children who are homeless. Please stay tuned for the announcement of a ribbon cutting and dedication as we invite you to celebrate with us.
Thank you again to all the people and organizations who stepped up and helped to make this possible. We couldn’t have done this without you.
He took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them, whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.” Mark 9:36-37 NIV
