Thank you for helping make Christmas special for so many children this year!

Child with Christmas PresentAt the Mission, preparations for Christmas are well underway! We are currently in the process of receiving donations of new (unwrapped) Christmas gifts to be given to homeless individuals and families and others in need from our community. Applications for support will be received between November 18th and December 2nd. Staff and volunteers will then make Christmas bags which will include clothing and an additional 3-5 gifts per family member. A complete Christmas meal will also be distributed to those served. Guests of the Mission will have the opportunity to “shop” for gifts for their family, and even the children will be able to pick out gifts for their parents with the help of volunteers.

On Christmas Day, the Mission will be transformed into a winter wonderland providing a special celebration for the guests of TRM and other individuals and families who are in need from the community. On this day, a special meal will be provided as well as additional gifts for each child and adult present. Pictures with Santa and other activities will also be offered.

Because of the generous support and donations received from the community last year, the Mission was able to provide Christmas gifts and food baskets to 3,907 individuals, including 2,704 children! Thank you for your help and consideration in helping us to continue to meet the needs of so many this upcoming Christmas season! We appreciate your care and compassion at Christmastime and throughout the year!

Gifts may be delivered to the Distribution Center at 401 NW Norris Monday – Friday 8:00AM – 3:00PM, or on weekends to 600 N Kansas. It would be helpful if all gifts could be received before December 9th. If you have any questions please call 785-357-4285.

Yes, my name is Alyssa and I am interested in doing what I can to help those in need. I am very interested in learning more about how everything works and what I could do to get a way to raise more money for another building for the homeless. I am very interested in helping those in desperate need achieve those needs and be able to get there life’s back onto the right track.
