Welcome, New Deputy Director
As Mission endeavors continue to expand to meet ever-increasing needs, we are excited to welcome aboard our new Deputy Director, Frank S. Henderson, Jr.
Frank comes to us with 29 years of experience with the State of Kansas in varying social service and criminal justice capacities. This includes service as Chairman of the Kansas Parole Board, President of the National Association of Crime Victim Compensation Boards and several positions with the Department of Social Services. He currently maintains a number of leadership roles in the community including President Elect of the Kansas Association of School Boards, Past President of the Seaman School Board, Commissioner for the Education Commission of the States and Director and Secretary of Topeka First Assembly Church. Prior to becoming Deputy Director, he served on the Topeka Rescue Mission Board of Directors for two years.
Frank recognizes that there is a plan and hope for every person on this earth. “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11, NLT). He shares that hope is the element missing in so many places of this world. Without it, people are unmotivated and unable to successfully move forward in life. Yet he sees the Mission as a place of hope that offers an opportunity for individuals in need to experience the love of God, for broken lives to be made whole and for people to rise up to their God-given potential in life. He is grateful for the opportunity to play a small role in what God is doing and extends his thanks to the many Mission supporters who partner in bringing new life to the tens of thousands who come through our doors. Whether giving of time through volunteerism or resources through monetary, in-kind donations or prayer – “these are the elements that are being used to bring hope into a hopeless world.”
We are grateful for Frank and thankful for your support as you join with us in welcoming him to
